OTTAWA UNIVERSITY LAUNCHES TOUCHLESS ELEVATOR APP

Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, has implemented touchless elevator technology at Paterson Hall, a midrise building that houses departments including philosophy and history, the university recently announced. Enabling passengers to call an elevator from their smartphones, the pilot project originated in early 2018. While Carleton's ultimate goal is to provide accessibility to all, the touchless solution also is a "sanitary way to move around buildings" in the COVID-19 era.
